Fire Inspections

The Hales Corners Fire Department conducts over 1,200 fire inspections every year. Our inspectors will inspect every business in the Village.  The majority of businesses require two inspections a year according to fire codes. Most fire inspections we perform are unannounced fire inspections, which means that the business is not given prior notification of the inspection.  If you are unable to complete the inspection when we arrive, we will schedule a more convenient time. If you are a business owner in the Village of Hales Corners and would like additional information, please call the firehouse or email Captain Shawn Hammernik

Make light use of extension cords. According to fire codes, they are only for temporary use. Power strips with fuses are an acceptable alternative. Stringing multiple power strips together is not acceptable. Do not overload an outlet!

Do not block sprinkler heads. Clearance of 18 inches need to be maintained at all times for the sprinkler heads to function properly. Do not hang anything from the sprinkler heads or the sprinkler pipe.
